Program(s) affected: T1 Document created: 03 23 , 2010
Tax year(s): 2009 Document last modified:
Version(s): 13.01, 13.10, 13.12 Problem status: Fixed in v13.20

Why is the amount for transferred tuition or examination fees that is entered at line 65, Section D of Schedule A of the parent's file different from the one entered at line 68, Section B of Schedule T in the student's file?

This situation occurs when the dependant's file with the tuition fees meets ALL the following conditions:
  • An amount was transferred to line 68 of the dependant's Schedule T
  • The amount calculated at line 66 of the Schedule T differs from the one entered at line 50
  • There are medical expenses entered in the keywords of the dependant's file
  • The dependant's medical expenses are transferred to one of the parents on the Quebec TP-1 tax return

As a workaround, in the dependant's file:

    1) in the keyword Transfer-OV , use the option "TP1 Sch. B - Medical expenses",
    2) select "To parent (optimal)" under the keyword Claim-By .
